Changes to Somerset Council Customer Service Point (CSP) face-to-face opening hours from June 2026
Face-to-face opening hours are being adjusted at the start and end of the day. Reception doors will remain open from 9am to 5pm for customers attending appointments or using self-service, with security staff present throughout. Customer service staff will be available for walk-in support between 10am and 4pm. These changes are being implemented after a review of face-to-face demand across all locations (March 2025 – March 2026) showed that usage is concentrated in a short window during the day, with very low demand at opening and closing times. This allows resource to be redirected to telephone services, supporting higher call demand during peak periods

Somerset Prepared Community Resilience Day 2026- 21st October 2026
Join us for the Somerset Prepared Community Resilience Day 2026, a day focused on bringing together communities, volunteers and partner organisations from across Somerset!
This year, we will be hosting the day on Wednesday 21st October at Millfield School with our theme being ‘Youth in Resilience’.
The day will focus on empowering the next generation while sharing knowledge, building connections and strengthening local resilience through a programme of engaging talks and practical workshops. The event will also feature a keynote speech and our annual resilience awards, celebrating individuals who have made a meaningful difference in their communities. Whether you’re part of a local group, a council, or simply interested in supporting resilience where you live, this is a valuable opportunity to learn, connect and be inspired.
Be sure to book your ticket before they run out!
